BARISTA SUPERVISOR
Purpose:
The Supervisor masters all the operational tasks of the Team Members and applies them daily. He also has the specific task of assisting the Manager to ensure, with him or in his absence, the overall smooth functioning of the Café, the application of various procedures, the development of the turnover, and the development of the team members' skills. As the Manager's main contact, with whom he works closely, he masters all the operational activities of the Café (reception, kitchen, products, cash register). This allows him to relay to the Team Members the priorities and organization validated by the Manager. In the absence of the Manager, he ensures the continuity of the Café's operation, its brand image, and the development of the professional skills of the team members in the restaurant industry.
Professional Environment:
He reports directly to the Manager. The title of Supervisor depends on the size and specific characteristics of the Café. The job title is validated with the Head of Operations and Training.
Job Conditions:
The position is based at the Café or occasionally involves intervening in other Cafés. The role of Supervisor requires great rigor and perfect exemplarity, as well as marked competence and sensitivity for the Team Members and for the restaurant sector.

Apply and enforce the hospitality and service standards in effect at Café Joyeux:
- Lead by example: friendly and warm welcome, quality of service, systematic use of the Café Joyeux standard greetings “Welcome to Café Joyeux!”.
- Develop a relationship with the Guest: make them aware of the concept and mission of Café Joyeux and make them experience Café Joyeux through our values, which are Beautiful / Good / True.
- Ensure that the Guest leaves happier than when they arrived, by creating an atmosphere in the Café that exudes joy and good humor.
Participate, in the absence of the Manager, in the animation and management of the café activities:
- Monitor and analyze the daily, weekly, and monthly results of the Café (commercial indicators such as turnover, top 10 sales, average ticket, loyalty) and make suggestions to the Manager.
Participate in enhancing the image of Café Joyeux:
- Guarantee the aesthetic compliance of the Café as well as the enhancement of Goodies and various Grain and Capsule products: products organized and displayed in a qualitative manner, systematic signage and labeling, product enhancement, etc.
- In the absence of the Manager, ensure that the team maintains the impeccable condition of the Café: cleaning, organizing the Café and storage, product display, etc.
Develop effective and regular communication with the Manager and Team Members (formal or informal):
- Have regular check-ins with the Manager and the team.
- File the logbook at the end of the day with your main accomplishments, concerns, challenges of the day
15% STAFF TRAINING: Participate in the development of the skills of Joyeux Team Members.
Assist the manager in training team members:
- Participate in the integration of new Team Members and the monitoring of trainees, in close consultation with specialized institutions.
- Adapt training actions to the needs of each Team Member: training for our 3 positions (counter, service, kitchen) as well as hygiene and safety rules (DOH).
- Follow up with Team Members in their daily work in the field: explanations, field follow-up, support, etc.
Assist the Manager or replace the Manager in supporting team members:
- Provide individual support to each team member.
- Assign each team member tasks based on their autonomy and skills.
Assist the Manager or replace the Manager in team management:
- Relay the priorities and organization validated by the Manager to the Team Members.
- Develop and maintain team motivation, communicate results to the Team.
- Participate in the development of action plans to create a joyful atmosphere within the Café.
15% PROCESS IMPLEMENTATION: Optimize the operation of Café Joyeux by strictly applying and enforcing all the processes.
Assist or replace the manager in following and implementing the procedures for order management (deliveries and ordering):
- Oversee the delivery and processing of orders from suppliers.
- Comply with the Café Joyeux Inventory and Pars Level Sheet (list of products that can be ordered).
- Manage stocks, product rotation (FIFO), expiration date management, etc.
- Conduct daily and weekly inventories.
Assist or replace the manager in understanding and respecting cash handling procedures (compliant and rigorous management of cash register and deposit procedures).
Assist or replace the manager in mastering and respecting hygiene and safety procedures:
- Apply the legal obligations related to hygiene and safety (rules and processes), know how to apply DOH rules, and follow the daily and weekly cleaning schedule.
- Communicate best practices related to hygiene and safety to the Team Members and ensure their application is respected.
Assist or replace the manager in promoting and enforcing administrative management procedures:
- Apply the processes contained in manuals, guidelines, and various internal notes.
- Communicate best practices related to these to Team Members and ensure their application is respected.
- Respond to first-level requests from the corporate regarding administrative management follow-up.
