Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Jefe de cocina to lead our culinary team in delivering exceptional dining experiences. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in the food industry, with expertise in catering, food safety, and kitchen management. As the head chef, you will be responsible for overseeing all kitchen operations, ensuring that high standards of food preparation and presentation are maintained.

Duties

  • Lead and manage the kitchen staff, providing guidance and training to ensure efficient food preparation and service.
  • Plan and create menus that cater to diverse dietary needs while maintaining quality and taste.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment.
  • Oversee inventory management, including ordering supplies and minimizing waste.
  • Collaborate with the dietary department to accommodate special dietary requirements for guests.
  • Monitor food preparation processes, ensuring that dishes are prepared to specification and presented beautifully.
  • Assist in cooking when necessary, demonstrating proficiency with various cooking techniques and knife skills.
  • Foster a positive team atmosphere by encouraging collaboration and communication among kitchen staff.

Experience

  • Proven experience in a leadership role within the food industry, preferably as a head chef or sous chef.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety practices and regulations.
  • Experience in catering services is highly desirable.
  • Proficient in food preparation techniques and skilled with knives.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to motivate a team.
  • Previous experience working in a dietary department is a plus.
