Position Overview:
The Expo (Expeditor) is a critical role at Cafe Sol, ensuring that food is prepared and delivered accurately and efficiently to our guests. You will act as the link between the kitchen and the front-of-house staff, ensuring that dishes are prepared with the highest quality standards, correctly plated, and delivered to the appropriate table. This position requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Food Coordination:
- Ensure that every dish leaving the kitchen is complete, presented according to Cafe Sol’s standards, and delivered to the correct guest.
- Monitor food quality, checking for accuracy, temperature, and presentation.
- Keep a clear line of communication with the kitchen and serving staff to expedite orders efficiently.
- Order Organization:
- Sort and prioritize orders based on preparation time and customer requests.
- Confirm that all sides, garnishes, and special requests are met before sending dishes out.
- Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with the kitchen and servers to keep the flow of service running smoothly.
- Provide real-time updates to the kitchen on any delays or issues with orders.
- Ensure that all expo stations are clean, stocked, and ready for service throughout the shift.
- Guest Interaction:
- Occasionally deliver food to the table when necessary.
- Assist in answering guest questions or resolving issues related to food items.
Qualifications:
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Keen attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in every order
- Prior experience in an expo or kitchen support role is preferred but not required
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 25 lbs
- A positive and team-oriented attitude
Work Schedule:
- Full-time and part-time shifts available
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $12.00 - $16.00 per hour
Expected hours: 15 – 40 per week
