The Director of National Accounts is responsible managing and developing sales with all customers within their region. This position is responsible for capturing new business and sales to customers, developing relationships, and managing promotional activity with these customers. They must also communicate and coordinate all sales activities, orders and new distribution with the customer service, production, and supply chain departments to ensure proper and efficient execution of the business.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for managing the overall product portfolio and attainment of sales goals
- Proactively create new selling opportunities specifically focused on current accounts with the opportunity for new account development.
- Effectively manage customer relationships through managing expectations and anticipating customer needs
- Customer and broker retention as desired by the company
- Overall account management to include developing effective retail pull-thru marketing programs to support the needs of key retailers.
- Solid direction and leadership to Broker Partners on objectives and profitability expectations.
- Accurate and timely weekly sales reporting, focused on profitable growth with customers, brokers and marketplace information.
- Responsible for driving margin results that exceed the plan.
- Responsible for identifying and communicating service level challenges and developing action plan.
- Directs scheduling of products to supports sales and optimal production.
- Interpret market data and trends.
- Responsible for providing pricing guides for all RFP’s.
- Collaborate with entire sales team on identifying annual sales objectives that support margin growth, with a keen eye for VCM drivers.
- Measure and analyze key performance indicators (VCM, ROI and KPIs)
- Develop sales budgets, understanding of costing models
- Analyze national market trends and discover new opportunities for growth
- Ability to work on cross functional teams – Customer Service, R&D, Finance, Marketing
- Regular travel
Required Skills
Qualifications Required :
10 years of sales experience within the food industry
Ability to develop presentations, manage budgets and have strong computer skills
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced industry
Capability to work well with associates and collaborate with coworkers and customers to create a positive and professional work environment
Strong organizational skills with a problem-solving attitude
Ability to read and interpret contracts
The ability to function within a fast paced and at times ambiguous environment
Excellent negotiation and presentation skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Proficiency of MS Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Power Point and Teams)
Travel is required
