Barback

Position Overview  

We are seeking experienced and enthusiastic Barbacks to join the Members Club at The Twenty Two. Barbacks support the bar atmosphere and our culture, ensuring exceptional member experiences within the bar areas. Barbacks assist the bartenders as needed with bar setup, preparation, and product stocking to maintain the overall cleanliness and efficiency of the bar, elevating the brand, and service standards at all times.  

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of experience as a barback – preferably fine dining restaurant, a solid understanding of the basics of the wine, spirits and beverage world. 
 

Responsibilities and duties include but are not limited to the below: 

• Prepare bar for service by filling wells with ice; preparing fruit trays; restocking the bar with beer, liquor, wine, glassware, and juices; and stocking trash cans and towels. 
• Maintain cleanliness and stocking of bar.
• Support bartenders with aspects of bar maintenance as needed. 
• Support all aspects of service as needed to provide the best possible guest experience. 
• Being ready and willing to assist fellow team members to maintain the smooth operation of the event 
• Upholding service standards to ensure a memorable guest experience 
• Maintaining and upholding our company's vision and values 
• Demonstrating a passion for details and a willingness to learn 
• Taking part in pre-service duties and applicable closing duties 
• Maintaining a safe, sanitary, and organized work environment, including prep rooms, bars, and service areas 

The ideal candidate will have the following: 

• Ability to perform all technical service functions through the course of an event 
• Professional attitude that comes through in personal interactions and communications 
• Has a sincere interest in the hospitality industry, food, and beverage 
• Demonstrate clear written and verbal communication skills 
• Able to work in a team environment and welcome feedback and direction 
• Eagerness to continue growth  
• Capability to stand for prolonged periods of time 
• Lift up to 50 pounds of weight 
• Ability to reach, bend, stoop, climb up and down stairs, walk, carry multiple objects

• Exert well-paced mobility for periods of up to 12 hours per day.

• Frequently utilize the stairs, often while lifting and carrying heavy items.
• Occasionally crouch and climb.
• Be exposed to hazards including, but not limited to, burns, cuts, scrapes, and frequent exposure of hands to water.
• Withstand fluctuations in temperature within the work environment, from high heat to below freezing.
• Be exposed to common allergens and unique ingredients.
• Handle heavy equipment and machinery.
• May be asked to travel to visit vendors or different company locations.
