Barista/Cashier

Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and customer-oriented Barista to join our team at our vibrant café. As a Barista, you will be responsible for crafting high-quality beverages while providing exceptional service to our customers. Your role will involve operating the cash register, managing the POS system, and ensuring a welcoming atmosphere in our café. Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages and food items according to established recipes and standards.
• Operate cash registers and POS systems accurately, handling transactions efficiently.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café area, including workstations and dining spaces.
• Assist customers with their orders, providing recommendations and answering questions about menu items.
• Manage inventory levels of coffee beans, syrups, pastries, and other supplies; report any shortages to management.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during peak hours.
• Uphold health and safety standards in food preparation and service areas.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a café or retail environment is preferred but not required.
• Strong math skills for handling cash register operations and basic retail math.
• Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently during busy periods.
• Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining a positive attitude.
• Familiarity with food preparation techniques is a plus.
• Strong communication skills with a focus on customer service and teamwork.
• Must be able to stand for long periods and lift moderate weights as needed.

Pay: $15.42 - $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 – 45 per week
