Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Barista to join our team in creating a welcoming and enjoyable café experience for our customers. We are located in the center court of the Westfarms mall expected to open March 26. The ideal candidate will have a love for coffee and food service, along with the ability to provide excellent customer service. As a Barista, you will be responsible for preparing and serving a variety of beverages and food items while maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve high-quality coffee, espresso drinks, teas, and other beverages according to standard recipes.
- Assist customers with menu selections and provide recommendations based on their preferences.
- Handle cash transactions accurately using the Point of Sale (POS) system, ensuring proper cash handling procedures are followed.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café area, including equipment, utensils, and seating areas.
- Prepare food items such as pastries, sandwiches, and salads while adhering to food safety standards.
- Manage time effectively during busy periods to ensure prompt service delivery.
- Collaborate with team members to create a positive work environment and enhance customer satisfaction.
- Engage with customers to build rapport and encourage repeat visits.
Requirements
- Previous experience in food service or retail is preferred but not required.
- Strong math skills for accurate cash handling and retail math calculations.
- Familiarity with POS systems is a plus.
- Excellent time management skills to handle peak hours efficiently.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- A passion for coffee culture and willingness to learn about different brewing techniques.
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with customers and team members.
- Must be able to stand for long periods and perform physical tasks related to food preparation and service.
