Job Summary:
We are seeking a Senior Contract Specialist to support the US Armys Strategic Business Transformation and Optimization Programs. This position requires strong interpersonal skills, time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks based upon customer guidance, attention to detail, and analytical skills. It involves comprehensive cradle to grave contracting actions, interpreting and applying laws, regulations, policies, standards, and procedures in accordance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and the Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS).
Key Responsibilities:
- Analysis of existing contracts for performance and compliance requirements. Conduct reviews of existing contracts to evaluate compliance with terms and conditions, performance metrics, and overall effectiveness
- Collaboration with legal and compliance teams to ensure adherence to regulations. Lead communications with legal, procurement, and compliance teams to ensure that all contracts meet legal standards and organizational policies. Proactively monitor and address contract-related issues.
- Development of standardized contract templates and processes. Create and maintain a library of standardized contract templates and guidelines to streamline the contract creation process across the organization.
- Develop training materials and conduct workshops for staff on best practices in contract management, compliance requirements, and negotiation techniques.
- Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) for contract performance, ensuring that all contracts align with organizational goals and strategic objectives.
- Identifying opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements. Research and identify opportunities for cost savings through renegotiation of terms and consolidation of contracts. Lead cost savings initiatives with vendors.
- Establish a rigorous risk management process. Proactively identify potential risks associated with contract execution and develop strategies to mitigate those risks.
Required Qualifications
- BS Degree and 10 years of applicable experience including experience with Department of Defense Acquisition processes.
- The ability to research data, analyze information, synthesize options, and make sound recommendations to staff contractors and government officials.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and other relevant applications
- Some travel is required.
- Must possess an active Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility.
