Area Business Coordinator
Reports to Director of Specialty Services and Business Operations
Background: Cahaba Medical Care Foundation is a community health center providing medical, pharmacy, dental, and behavioral health services to diverse underserved communities in Alabama. We are a Level 3 Patient-Centered Medical Home and Joint Commission accredited organization. Purpose: The Area Business Coordinator,, reporting directly to the Director of Business Operations, will play a vital role in optimizing revenue and operational efficiency within our healthcare entity. Clinic reception teams report directly to their Area Business Coordinator. This position involves collaborating with clinic office managers, revenue cycle managers, provider enrollment, and billing office staff to design, refine, and educate on workflows that drive revenue maximization. This role is pivotal in ensuring the smooth operation of our healthcare entity, and the successful candidate will be integral in optimizing revenue streams and enhancing operational effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities:
- Workflow Optimization
- Collaborate with office managers and relevant teams to create, enhance, and train staff on workflows designed to maximize revenue
- Performance Metrics
- Establish performance metrics and objectives, and regularly extract and present data on workflows such as no-shows and PCP/network issues to office managers to facilitate continuous performance improvement
- On-Site Support
- Conduct regular visits to each office location to provide hands-on training, observe front office workflows, and offer insights into workflow enhancements or corrections
- Interdepartmental Communication
- Maintain open communication channels with various departments, including medical and primary care operations, to ensure seamless workflow transitions and facilitate awareness of changes
- Software Expertise
- Serve as a superuser for Athena and Azara systems, providing guidance and support to staff on effective utilization to optimize revenue
- Management Collaboration
- Manage reception teams in assigned area. Assist in addressing performance-related issues for reception personnel in other areas in coordination with office managers and the HR department
- Demonstrate strong leadership skills and embody Cahaba Core Cultural Competencies (C4s)
- Utilize crucial conversations and crucial accountability skills to foster a performance-oriented and feedback-driven environment
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business management, or a related field (Master's degree preferred)
- Proven experience in healthcare management or administration, particularly in revenue cycle management
- Strong proficiency with Athena and Azara software systems
- Exceptional communication and leadership skills
- Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions
- Management experience is a plus
