Cahaba Valley Animal Clinic is seeking a skilled and compassionate Groomer to join our dedicated team! In this role, you will provide high-quality grooming services to our beloved patients while ensuring they have a positive and stress-free experience. You will be responsible for bathing, brushing, trimming, and other grooming duties, all while maintaining a high standard of care for our furry friends. This is a part-time opportunity.

Wage: 50% commissions tips
Key Responsibilities
- Perform grooming services according to customer instructions, ensuring the safety, comfort, and well-being of all pets.
- Bathe and dry dogs of all breeds and sizes, ensuring each pet receives the care they need.
- Trim, clip, or shave hair/fur and remove matted fur to maintain a clean and healthy coat.
- Conduct brush-outs, nail trims, ear cleanings, and basic grooming tasks for all animals.
- Assist the veterinary team in identifying skin conditions, parasites, or other health concerns during grooming appointments.
- Maintain a clean and organized grooming area, ensuring a hygienic workspace for both pets and staff.
- Provide a calm, gentle, and patient approach to handling pets, especially those who may be anxious or fearful.
- Deliver excellent customer service, keeping pet owners informed and ensuring their satisfaction with services rendered.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
- Prior experience in pet grooming and bathing is preferred.
- Ability to safely and compassionately handle pets of all sizes, breeds, and temperaments.
- Strong attention to detail, cleanliness, and organization.
- Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude when interacting with both pets and clients.
- Ability to bend, lift, stoop, and squat as needed.
- Must be able to lift at least 40 lbs.
