Summary
The Job Site Safety Coordinator Professional (JSC-Pro) is the project point of contact to coordinate environmental, health and safety compliance components associated with Cahill Contractors projects located throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. This position involves the performance of jobsite safety inspections/audits, identification and correction of hazardous conditions and behavior, delivering safety training, jobsite-specific safety planning and other administrative management of Cahill safety program documents. The JSC-Pro is responsible for identifying and assisting projects comply with the corresponding laws as wells as company policies and procedures. The JSC-Pro will model Cahill core values of safety, integrity, commitment, collaboration, and continuous improvement. This position will report to the Department of Safety.
Minimum Qualifications
- Possess a minimum of 3-year progressive experience in construction or equivalent work/education experience in safety.
- Proficient in using a computer and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)
- Have successfully completed the OSHA 30-hour Standards for Construction. This requirement may be waived in lieu of an accredited safety and health degree or professional safety certification (i.e., CSP, CHST or STS).
- Possess or ability to obtain "Competent Person" certification in safety disciplines related to the work performed. (Example: Fall protection, excavation, etc.) within 30-days of assignment.
- Possess current certification for CPR/First Aid/AED.
- Be capable of performing accident investigations and developing a concise written report.
- Is proficient in the presentation of "toolbox" meetings and safety competency training.
- Is proficient in the performance of daily workplace inspections, safe work practice audits and corrective action mitigation.
Essential Job Functions
- Support Project Team in development of Job Hazard Analyses and an overall Project Safety Roadmap
- Evaluate effectiveness of safety programs through daily field walks.
- Evaluate regulatory compliance and audit oversight.
- Provide coaching and mentoring for employees exhibiting unsafe behaviors and provide recognition for employees exhibiting safe behaviors.
- Deliver safety training and new employee orientations.
- Conduct incident investigations.
- Provide regular feedback to Project Team on safety areas for improvement and recognition.
- Assist in the development of project-specific corrective action plans to address safety issues occurring in the field.
- Collaborate with job-specific safety initiatives and performance measures.
General Work Environment

- Frequent- standing, walking, sitting, climbing, typing, carrying, pushing, bending.
- Work is conducted in both indoor and outdoor constructions jobsite settings.
- Occupational Environmental conditions such as heat, cold, noise and dust from equipment/machinery will vary.
- Occasional lifting of up to 40 pounds.
- Ability to climb ladders and navigate scaffolding and/or temporary staircases.
- Occasional work at heights or in confined space.
Additional Job Requirements
- Continue professional development and training.
- Train the Trainer or ability to obtain.
- Forklift/Aerial Lift Trainer a plus.
- Other safety professional certifications, such as STS or CHST preferred.
- Experience with union workforce desired.
- Bi-lingual a plus.

The base salary for this role is targeted at $110,000-$120,000
