Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Beef Butcher to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for slaughtering, dressing, cutting, and preparing beef products according to company standards, ensuring quality and safety regulations are met. This role requires strong knife skills, knowledge of meat cuts, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Butchering beef carcasses into primal, sub-primal, and retail cuts.
- Trimming, deboning, and portioning meat according to customer specifications or company guidelines.
- Ensuring proper handling, storage, and packaging of beef products.
- Maintaining a clean and organized work environment, following all health and safety regulations.
- Operating and maintaining butchery equipment, such as saws, knives, and grinders.
- Inspecting meat products for quality, discarding or reporting any spoiled or contaminated items.
- Assisting with inventory management, including weighing, labeling, and tracking products.
- Providing exceptional customer service when interacting with clients or customers.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a butcher, preferably with a focus on beef.
- Strong knowledge of meat cuts, processing techniques, and food safety standards.
- Proficient with butchery tools and equipment.
- Physical stamina and strength to lift heavy carcasses and stand for extended periods.
- Attention to detail and precision in cutting and portioning.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Working Conditions:
- Work in cold environments (meat coolers/freezers).
- Handling sharp tools and heavy equipment safely.
- Flexible schedule, including weekends or early mornings, as needed.
Job Type: Part-time
