Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Scale Operator to join our team at Cain Recyclers. The back scale will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate measurements and efficient operations within our warehouse environment. This position involves operating scales, managing inventory, and supporting the overall logistics process. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of warehouse operations and possess excellent organizational skills. Any previous experience sorting scrap metal and non ferrous material is a plus. Must be easily teachable.
Responsibilities
- Operate the back scales to ensure accurate weight measurements for incoming and outgoing inventoey.
- Assist with order fulfillment by picking, packing, and preparing products for shipment.
- Utilize MRP (Material Requirements Planning) systems to track inventory levels and manage stock effectively.
- Load and unload materials from trucks using appropriate equipment such as pallet jacks, manual labor, and forklifts.
- Perform shipping and receiving tasks, ensuring all packages are properly documented and accounted for.
- Conduct regular inventory checks to maintain accurate stock levels and report discrepancies as needed.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and adherence to safety protocols.
Skills
- Proficient in basic math skills for accurate weight calculations and inventory management.
- Experience in warehouse operations, including shipping, receiving, and order fulfillment processes.
- Familiarity with MRP systems is a plus for effective inventory tracking.
- Ability to operate pallet jacks and other warehouse equipment safely.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy in measurements and documentation.
- Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently within a fast-paced environment.
- Capability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also being self-motivated.
