The School of Education is inviting qualified individuals to apply for the position of Chair of Education Graduate Programs. The Chair will provide oversight for the existing online Master's in Education program and Cairn University's new Doctorate in Education (Ed.D.) program. This position is critical in ensuring the successful development and execution of the Ed.D. program, fostering a robust learning environment, and upholding the University's mission. Position Summary
The Chair of Education Graduate Programs is responsible for providing academic leadership, administrative oversight, and support for the current Master's in Education program and the development and implementation of the Ed.D. program within Cairn University's School of Education. This role requires an understanding of and commitment to the University's mission. The Chair reports to the Dean of the School of Education and collaborates with various stakeholders to ensure the success of the graduate programs.
Key Responsibilities :
- Teach an appropriate number of courses within the Ed.D. program and School of Education.
- Collaborate with admissions staff to train them on the graduate education programs, ensuring they have the necessary knowledge to effectively recruit and enroll students.
- Provide oversight for the development and launch of the Ed.D. program, in alignment with the university's mission and goals.
- Assist the School Dean in curriculum development and refinement to fulfill the mission of the University and the School. Work with the Dean to assess the fulfillment of graduate education program goals.
- Participate in the recruitment of an effective program faculty and provide academic and professional training, guidance, and feedback to part-time and adjunct faculty in the graduate education programs.
- Collaborate with the School Dean in assigning semester teaching responsibilities to program faculty.
- Assist the School Dean in developing and administering the graduate program budgets as applicable.
- Plan and lead department / program meetings when scheduled. Make recommendations to enhance collegiality within the school.
- Assist the School Dean in working with Marketing and Admissions to develop recruitment and retention strategies for the graduate education programs.
- Meet with part-time and adjunct faculty regularly, providing formal and informal training and support. Recommend ways to improve communication and practices.
