Duties
- Care for livestock, including feeding, watering, and monitoring health conditions.
- Operate and maintain farm machinery and heavy equipment safely and efficiently.
- Perform routine equipment repairs and maintenance to ensure optimal functionality.
- Assist in planting, cultivating, and harvesting crops in gardens or fields as needed.
- Utilize power tools for various tasks related to ranch upkeep and repairs.
- Supervise other workers or volunteers on specific projects or during peak seasons.
- Conduct heavy lifting tasks as required for moving supplies or equipment around the ranch.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas, ensuring safety protocols are followed.
Skills
- Proficient in animal handling techniques to ensure safe interactions with livestock.
- Experience with welding for repair tasks is a plus.
- Strong understanding of basic math for measuring feed quantities or calculating areas for planting.
- Ability to operate heavy machinery effectively while adhering to safety standards.
- Familiarity with garden maintenance practices is beneficial.
- Competence in using various power tools for maintenance and repair tasks.
- Strong supervisory skills to lead small teams effectively when required.
