TITLE: Store Leader – Nothing Bundt Cakes
LOCATION: Chicago – Lincoln Park
REPORTS TO: Regional Leader & Ownership
SUPERVISES: 20-30 Bakery Team Members
The Nothing Bundt Cakes (NbC) Store Leader will build a team including the Assistant Store Leader and team leads to facilitate day-to-day store operations, which includes all aspects of the guest experience, cake production, retail merchandising, inventory control and community presence through marketing and events. This individual will build a solid foundation and a high-performing team, setting the tone and culture for their store and ensuring adherence to strict brand standards – the highest-quality cakes, a warm and welcoming environment for all and a superior guest experience.

Detailed Accountabilities & Responsibilities:
I. Team Leadership
- Recruits and selects talent ensuring high performance and clearly communicated expectations.
- Provide proper training to ensure adherence to brand standards and enable team member growth.
- Cross-trains team members to find strengths of each individual and ensures coverage throughout bakery.
- Provides continuous coaching and follow-up to develop team and manage performance.
- Delegates majority of day-to-day operations to Assistant Store Manager and Shift Leads.
- Develops future leaders.
II. Business Operations
- Opens and / or closes ensuring proper preparation for day of and next day activities.
- Manages large client relationships and subsequent orders / deliveries.
- Creates weekly productivity, sales goals and schedules based on an ever-changing business
- Sets inventory par levels based on production demand and sales forecast, monitors stock levels and processes weekly supply orders.
- Ensures all bakery operations adhere to food and health safety standards and NbC policies and procedures.
- Manages controllable expenses with particular focus on labor and maintenance contracts
- Constantly communicates with peers, leadership and owners to ensure optimal performance.
III. Local Marketing
- Leads proactive community outreach to increase brand visibility and engage in selling/charity events
- Manage requests for community / charitable contributions.

Education, Certifications and Work Experience Requirements:

- Associate’s degree required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Food service safety training certificate (or required to obtain within 30 days of employment).
- 2-4 years of leadership experience managing teams in retail; food service / restaurant experience preferred.
- Required proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook with comfort in learning new technologies.
- Previous experience in creating an incredible guest-focused atmosphere.
Work Expectations & What We Give in Return:
We provide very reasonable hours and an outstanding work environment – some rare very early or late evening shifts are required based on changing business demands. This is Retail – Saturday and holiday shifts are required! We are closed or only have limited hours for major holidays.
- You must have the ability to communicate with team members, peers and Sr. Leadership, sometimes outside of your scheduled shifts.
- You need to have a valid driver’s license and a vehicle to occasionally use for company purposes.
- You must be able to lift 50 pounds.

Salary : $65,000 - $85,000
