Job Overview:

The role is front of house, with means frequent customer interaction and it's crucial you've worked with espresso machines before (even though we do bring in our coffee supplier to do training).

Please note the listed hourly wage is base only, and front of house (baristas) will get 100% of customer tips. As we are a smaller shop, we don't have a large staff in front to split the tip pool - but that'll also mean you'll need to work independently at times.

Duties:

• Prepare and serve a variety of coffee drinks, teas, and other beverages
• Operate espresso machines and other equipment to make quality drinks
• Maintain cleanliness of the store
• Take customer orders accurately and efficiently
• Handle cash transactions and operate the POS system
• Pack cakes, croissants, and mochis based on customers' orders
• Assist in stocking and organizing inventory
• Provide friendly and attentive customer service
• Depending on shift, open or close processes
• Other duties as needed. As a small shop, we all try to help each other to get things done.

Job Qualifications:

• Experience in the food industry or food service preferred
• Proficiency in basic math for cash handling, and ringing up items accurately
• Strong customer service skills with a friendly demeanor
• Ability to work in a team-oriented environment
• Knowledge of coffee preparation techniques is a plus
• Familiarity with operating a cash register or POS system is beneficial
• Being bilingual in Chinese (especially Mandarin) is preferred
