Content Creator (Videographer & Editor)

About the Role

We’re looking for a creative powerhouse who lives and breathes social-first content. This role is split between capturing content (50%) and editing/producing engaging videos (50%) that feel native to platforms like TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, and Facebook. You’ll be ideating, concepting, shooting, and editing videos that align with business objectives, product launches, and our overall brand strategy.

The ideal candidate is obsessed with trends, understands how to stop the scroll, and knows how to make videos that feel organic (not like ads) and drive engagement traffic to site. You’ll work closely with our marketing team and help to spearhead planned shoots and spontaneous content capture.

What You'll Do:

📸 Capture Content (50%)

• Plan, film, and produce social-style videos for TikTok, Instagram, YouTube and Facebook.
• Work both in-studio and on-location to capture raw, authentic footage.
• Direct on-camera talent (including team members, influencers, and yourself if you're comfortable being in front of the camera).
• React quickly to trends, viral moments, and last-minute content needs.

✂️ Edit & Produce (50%)

• Edit videos that are engaging, fast-paced, and aligned with current platform trends.
• Use creative transitions, captions, sound effects, and music to elevate content.
• Deliver final content optimized for various social platforms with quick turnaround times.

💡 Ideation & Strategy

• Collaborate with the Social Media and Marketing teams. Brainstorm content and unique hooks tied to product launches and key brand moments.
• Stay ahead of trends and social platform updates to keep our content fresh and competitive.
• Proactively pitch ideas that align with CAKES body's voice and business goals.
• Seek to optimize! Prioritize content that is low-lift to execute and effective (high-performing).

You’re a Great Fit If You:

✅ Live on TikTok and Instagram—you know the trends before they trend.

✅ Have proven experience in shooting and editing short-form video content

✅ Are and expert iPhone videographer, and passionate about motion in general! Must have a strong creative eye for lighting and framing subjects for iphone video (camera skills are a plus).

✅ Are quick on your feet, flexible, and love working in a fast-paced environment.

✅ Have a strong creative POV but are also open to feedback and collaboration.

✅ Can juggle multiple projects and deadlines without breaking a sweat.

✅ Understand the difference between content that feels like a commercial and content people actually want to watch.

✅ Proficient in Adobe Premiere Pro or Final Cut Pro X, Adobe After Effects.
