As an IT Technician at Cal Engineering Solutions, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining the technological infrastructure that supports our operations. You will be responsible for providing technical assistance to our employees, diagnosing, and resolving IT issues, and ensuring the smooth operation of our systems and networks. This role requires a customer-focused mindset and strong problem-solving skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform computer repair and maintenance to ensure the optimal performance of hardware and software systems
- Install, configure, and maintain hardware components including desktops, laptops, and peripherals
- Provide basic networking support, including troubleshooting issues related to local networks, Wi-Fi, and internet connectivity
- Assist with data migration tasks, ensuring smooth transitions of files and system data between devices and storage solutions
- Utilize Amazon Web Services (AWS) to manage cloud-based services and perform related tasks as required
- Edit and create websites using a block editor; assist with website updates, content management, and basic site maintenance
- Troubleshoot and configure IoT devices, ensuring proper setup, integrations, and functionality within a networked environment
- Offer technical support to users for various software and hardware issues, ensuring timely resolution
- Perform on-site maintenance tasks, including changing lights, maintaining currently installed electronics, and other physical maintenance tasks
- Travel to various locations as needed, using your valid driver’s license to commute to client sites or other related destinations
- You may be asked to assist in tasks outside of IT, such as:
- Assist with meeting builders and contractors at real estate properties to ensure coordination of IT and property management needs
- Manage and print fine art media as required for client or company projects
- Ensure that projects related to real estate and property management are completed on time and meet deadlines, helping ensure smooth execution
- Provide support with miscellaneous tasks as they arise, assisting clients’ needs to ensure overall satisfaction and project success
Qualifications
- Strong experience in computer repair and maintenance, with a solid understanding of operating systems and hardware troubleshooting
- Familiarity with Microsoft environments, including Windows OS and Office Suite
- Hardware installation experience with desktops, laptops, printers, and computer peripherals
- Basic understanding of networking principles such as IP addressing, DNS, and troubleshooting network connectivity issues
- Experience with data migration processes and tools for transferring data across systems
- AWS familiarity or experience with cloud computer and management services
- Experience with website creation and editing using a block editor (e.g., WordPress, Wix, or similar platforms)
- Knowledge of IoT devices and experience configuring or troubleshooting smart devices
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to various locations as required for on-site support and maintenance
Desired Skills
