Who We’re Looking For
A dynamic, experienced, and compassionate leader with a strong background in residential childcare, behavioral health, or youth services. The ideal candidate is an inspiring communicator, strategic thinker, and hands-on leader who can balance high-level vision with operational excellence. This role is pivotal in designing, implementing, and evaluating youth programs, ensuring they align with our Model of Leadership and Service (MOLS) and comply with licensing standards.
Executive Director Key Responsibilities
- Lead & Oversee Residential Programs: Ensure all childcare operations align with our Model of Leadership and Service (MOLS) and meet licensing standards.
- Supervise & Support Teams: Provide leadership for Home Life, casework, intervention services, and counseling departments.
- Enhance & Expand Youth Programs: Oversee vocational training, farm/ranch initiatives, and educational programming to foster skill-building and personal growth.
- Manage Campus Operations: Supervise maintenance, custodial, transportation, business services, and food services for seamless functionality.
- Ensure Compliance & Quality: Drive continuous quality improvement (CQI) initiatives and regulatory adherence.
- Oversee Financial & Administrative Functions: Collaborate with Finance and HR to manage budgets, staffing, and strategic initiatives.
Executive Director Qualifications:
▪️Education: Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in human services, psychology, social work, or related field preferred.
▪️Licensing: Must obtain a Texas Childcare Administrator’s license within one year of employment; valid Texas driver’s license required.
▪️Experience: Minimum of 5–7 years of leadership in youth-focused environments, including:
- residential childcare facilities
- therapeutic boarding schools
- behavioral/mental health programs for adolescents
- juvenile justice programs or youth detention facilities
- intensive adolescent residential substance abuse treatment centers
▪️Program Oversight: Demonstrated success managing complex operations in high-acuity settings, with oversight of residential treatment facilities or similar programs.
▪️Staff Leadership: Experience supervising multidisciplinary teams including therapists, counselors, and direct care staff.
▪️Clinical Knowledge: Evidence-based practices in adolescent care, including trauma-informed care, motivational interviewing, CBT, and individualized treatment planning.
▪️Compliance & Accreditation: Deep understanding of state and federal regulations, licensing and accreditation in governing residential care, behavioral health and treatment programs for youth.
▪️Partnership Development: Proven ability to collaborate with juvenile justice systems, probation departments, schools, and social service agencies.
▪️Crisis Management: Skilled in leading through high-acuity, crisis-prone environments with an emphasis on safety, emergency response, and incident protocols.
▪️Technical Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and related administrative tools.
▪️Physical Requirements: Ability to bend, lift, grasp, and sit/stand for extended periods.
▪️Location: Must reside on-site at the Ranch, in Amarillo, or within one hour of the surrounding Amarillo area.
