ANNOUNCEMENT OF POSITION VACANCY
SUMMARY: Under the general supervision of the department manager, the Student Office Assistant is responsible for assisting with various tasks within various areas (Operations, IT, Residential Education, Maintenance). This position is designed to provide opportunities to students to hone customer service skills, technical skills, flexibility and versatility, team development, and foster professional growth.
SOME OF THE THINGS THAT YOU WILL GET TO DO (this is just a small sampling of work variety):
The main responsibility of the Student Office Assistant is to assist with assigned duties in addition to other duties that may be assigned in conjunction with those listed below:
- Provide a wide variety of general office and outdoor duties, including but not limited to: answering phones, preparing correspondence, filing, inspections, lockouts, assisting in the mailroom, etc.
- Perform light to moderate cleaning, move furniture and any other additional light maintenance repairs.
- Deliver a high level of interactive customer service, handle confidential materials appropriately, prioritize effectively, and manage multiple projects simultaneously with a high level of accuracy.
- Provide a good balance of technical and people skills with the ability to work both independently and as a member of a team.
- Work well with staff at all levels within a diverse, multi-cultural, collaborative environment.
- Assist with projects/programming pertinent to their designated area.
- Prepare documents/materials as necessary.
- Assist individuals via phone, email or in person.
- Communicate regularly with direct supervisor for work status updates as well as task completions.
- Use student housing database software and Microsoft applications.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
