ANNOUNCEMENT OF POSITION VACANCY
SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Marketing Manager, the Photographer will leverage strong photography and videography skills to develop, coordinate, and execute photo/video shoots that support the Cal Poly Pomona Enterprise units. These units include but are not limited to, the Bronco Bookstore, Dining Services, Kellogg West Hotel & Conference Center, and University Village Housing. The ideal candidate would be an organized multitasker who can handle many diverse projects and meet tight deadlines. This position is in-office.
SOME OF THE THINGS THAT YOU WILL GET TO DO (this is just a small sampling of work variety):
- Work collaboratively with the marketing team to conceptualize, create, capture, and edit photo/video projects for marketing campaigns, events, and promotions for Cal Poly Pomona Enterprise units.
- Photo projects may include, but are not limited to commercial, product, food, event, and portrait photography.
- Video projects may include, but are not limited to scripted corporate explainers, event coverage, promotional ads, and drone videography.
- Organize and maintain an archive of photo/video assets.
- Conceptualize ideas, provide creative input, and make strategic recommendations to leadership staff.
- Maintain collaborative, professional, and personable relations with team members, leadership staff, and clients.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Occasional work during weekends and evenings may be assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum 3 years of professional photography/videography experience.
- Solid skills using photo editing programs such as Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Lightroom.
- Solid skills using video editing programs such as Final Cut Pro or Adobe Premiere.
- Expertise with the operating, handling, and troubleshooting of professional-grade cameras & equipment.
- Strong verbal and interpersonal skills to communicate and work effectively with others.
- Able to multitask with strong organization and time management skills.
- Resourceful, takes initiative, and employs sound judgment, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience working in a college/university or corporate setting.
- Experience with Sony cameras (specifically, A7 III or A7 IV models).
- Photography portfolio showcasing product, food, professional portraits, and/or events.
- Videography portfolio showcasing corporate material, tutorials/explainers, event coverage, or promotional ads.
- Familiar with diversity, equity, and inclusion concepts and best practices.
- Drone experience is a plus but not required.
ABOUT US: As the largest employer of students on the Cal Poly Pomona campus, the Foundation offers valuable work experience and hands-on training to approximately 1,500 Cal Poly Pomona students each year.
