ANNOUNCEMENT OF POSITION VACANCY
SUMMARY: Currently searching for one Part-Time Research Associate to work in the Organic Tomato Breeding Program, College of Agriculture, under the supervision of Dr. Priti Saxena, Principal Investigator
SOME OF THE THINGS THAT YOU WILL GET TO DO (this is just a small sampling of work variety):
The research associate will assist the breeding program in the planting tomatoes in the field, collecting data, maintain plants during the growing season and assist graduate students and organizing all research materials and data; data entry; data entry; data analysis; report preparation.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Enrolled in Cal Poly Pomona and have interest in research and field work
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must possess excellent communication, self-starter, and leadership skills and have the ability work in a team setting and to positively interact with other students, faculty and staff.
- Must be willing and able to lift weight (5-20 lb), work in field and greenhouse and walk for long hours.
ABOUT US: As the largest employer of students on the Cal Poly Pomona campus, the Foundation offers valuable work experience and hands-on training to approximately 1,500 Cal Poly Pomona students each year. The Foundation offers positions in various fields; whether it is in the area of technology, science, retail, culinary arts, hospitality1500 management, leadership or research grants, these student employees participate in Cal Poly Pomona's learn-by-doing philosophy and acquire practical skills in their designated field of study.
