ANNOUNCEMENT OF POSITION VACANCY
SUMMARY : Currently searching for one Undergraduate Student Research Assistant to work on the National Science Foundation (NSF)-funded project titled "Career Development in Construction Engineering through an Academic and Industry Network (CERTAIN)" under the supervision of Dr. Jeyoung Woo, Principal Investigator (PI) in the Department of Civil Engineering.
SOME OF THE THINGS THAT YOU WILL GET TO DO (this is just a small sampling of work variety) :
The undergraduate research assistant (RA) will assist the PI with a literature review for the project, a data analysis, and a journal article / conference proceeding writing to investigate the challenges of the current CEM students at CPP (URM, female, first-generation, and low-income college students), and implement recruiting and retention activities to support graduates pursuing successful careers in the construction industry. Specifically, the RA will assist the PI in all aspects of the project, including but not limited to data collection, conducting multiple online surveys and follow-up interviews, data collection material preparation, and organizing all research materials and data, data analysis, and drafting journal article manuscripts.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
- Currently enrolled in the Engineering Program at Cal Poly Pomona
- Preferred a student in the Construction Engineering and Management Program in the Civil Engineering Department
ABOUT US : As the largest employer of students on the Cal Poly Pomona campus, the Foundation offers valuable work experience and hands-on training to approximately 1,500 Cal Poly Pomona students each year.
