ANNOUNCEMENT OF POSITION VACANCY
SUMMARY: Under general supervision of the Bronco One Card Supervisor, the Assistant is responsible for completing various tasks including those listed below and will vary upon a variety of factors. This position is designed to provide opportunities to hone customer service skills, team development, and foster professional growth.
SOME OF THE THINGS THAT YOU WILL GET TO DO (this is just a small sampling of work variety):
- General administrative support such as answering telephones, greeting and assisting visitors.
- Maintains applicable receiving area to ensure an organized professional work environment.
- Sorts and distributes incoming mail on behalf of staff.
- Ability to work independently, take direction well and be proactive and self-starting.
- Deal with various payment types with great accuracy.
- Provide high level customer service.
- Detail orientated note taking conducive to teamwork
- Capable of working in a structured workflow as well as independently to complete tasks.
- Conduct yourself in an honest, conscientious, and courteous manner at all times, showing respect for persons of all backgrounds, races, genders, interests, and abilities.
- Develop individual respect for one another, respect for personal and the University as a whole.
- Ability to adhere to a regular work schedule
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High School diploma or equivalent general education degree (GED). Must be self-directed and organized, basic knowledge of phone/email etiquette and professional workplace behavior, and be proficient using the latest version of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and mail merges, email and web searches.
ABOUT US: As the largest employer of students on the Cal Poly Pomona campus, the Foundation offers valuable work experience and hands-on training to approximately 1,500 Cal Poly Pomona students each year. The Foundation offers positions in various fields; whether it is in the area of technology, science, retail, culinary arts, hospitality management, leadership or research grants, these student employees participate in Cal Poly Pomona's learn-by-doing philosophy and acquire practical skills in their designated field of study.
The Foundation also contributes operating support to nearly 1,100 Foundation and scholarship programs every year, including Bronco Athletics and the Norman J. Priest Scholarship. In addition, the Foundation administers grants and contracts, contributes to campus security, and supports several university publications. The Foundation contributes over $1 million annually to Cal Poly Pomona.
