ANNOUNCEMENT OF POSITION VACANCY
SUMMARY: Under the general supervision of the Associate Director of Operations, the Office Support (Mailroom) ensures proper and secure handling of mail and package distribution for the University Village students and office.
SOME OF THE THINGS THAT YOU WILL GET TO DO (this is only a small sampling of work variety):
- Coordinate all operations of the mailroom.
- Verify/process all mail and packages.
- Distribute mail accordingly to residents and all live on staff in a timely manner.
- Forward mail and return mail/packages for all history residents.
- Maintain daily/monthly/yearly package logs.
- Maintain overfilled mailboxes and packages not picked up.
- Forward history resident mail for 90 days after move out.
- Maintain the cleanliness of the mailroom and all mailboxes.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required, Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- 1 to 2 years related office experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must possess the ability to work well with staff at all levels within a diverse, multi-cultural, collaborative environment.
- Experience with multi-tasking, meeting deadlines, and ability to adapt when priorities change.
ABOUT US: As the largest employer of students on the Cal Poly Pomona campus, the Foundation offers valuable work experience and hands-on training to approximately 1,500 Cal Poly Pomona students each year. The Foundation offers positions in various fields; whether it is in the area of technology, science, retail, culinary arts, hospitality management, leadership or research grants, these student employees participate in Cal Poly Pomona's learn-by-doing philosophy and acquire practical skills in their designated field of study.
The Foundation also contributes operating support to nearly 1,100 Foundation and scholarship programs every year, including Bronco Athletics. In addition, the Foundation administers grants and contracts, contributes to campus security, and supports several university publications. The Foundation contributes over $1 million annually to Cal Poly Pomona.
