ANNOUNCEMENT OF POSITION VACANCY
SUMMARY: Cal Poly Pomona Foundation is currently searching for a Marketing & Web Content Intern.
The Career Center provides all students and alumni with a connecting link between campus life and employment. Programs, services, and information assist students with career development and the career entry process. Through outreach to the total Cal Poly Pomona community, the Career Center strives to enhance student development and retention leading to successful graduation and career entry.
SOME OF THE THINGS THAT YOU WILL GET TO DO (this is just a small sampling of work variety):
The Marketing & Web Content Intern will work closely with their supervisor and the marketing peer team to drive strategic, impactful marketing initiatives while upholding the Career Center’s brand identity. The intern will collaborate with the Career Center team to ensure that marketing efforts align with the department’s objectives and the needs of students. This role is open to all students, with a particular emphasis on those pursuing degrees in marketing, communications, public relations, business, or related fields.
· Develop and execute creative and targeted marketing strategies that engage a broad audience, including the campus community, alumni, and professional partners.
· Lead the peer team in managing the Career Center website using Uconnect, ensuring content is continually evolving and engaging.
o Developing web content along with regular and standardized e-marketing campaigns.
· Support in managing content creation, social media, and digital marketing efforts.
o This may include creating and scheduling content for campus marketing materials, social media channels (Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok, and Facebook), and designing materials such as flyers, posters, and other marketing assets for events and programs.
· Organize and maintain a library of marketing materials (photos, videos, graphics, written content, etc.)
· Continuously explore creative ways to engage diverse audiences.
· Aid in tracking and analyzing marketing efforts, including website and email metrics to gauge engagement and success.
· Provide general support to the marketing team as needed.
Technical Skills
· Proficiency with content management systems (CMS system Uconnect is preferred or similar platforms like WordPress, Wix, Squarespace) and Search Engine Optimization (SEO).
· Experience with platforms including Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, and Tiktok.
· Proficiency with resources like Canva, Linktree, and Microsoft Office Suite.
· Familiarity with content creation and editing, including graphics, images, filming, and recording/voiceover.
· Familiarity with email marketing platforms (Mailchimp, Constant Contact, etc.) is a plus.
Soft Skills
· Consistently professional while engaging with a diverse community and providing excellent service.
· Strong leadership skills, with the ability to lead a team, inspire results, and motivate peers.
· Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
· Time commitment is 20 hours and not to exceed 20 hours per week. Although office hours are from 8 am to 5 pm, occasional evening and weekend hours may be required. Commitment is for Summer 2025 – Spring 2026.

ABOUT US: As the largest employer of students on the Cal Poly Pomona campus, the Foundation offers valuable work experience and hands-on training to approximately 1,500 Cal Poly Pomona students each year.
