JOB POSITION: Student Assistant, Part-Time – Turfgrass Management

Cal Poly Pomona Enterprises is currently searching for two Student Assistants to work in the Plant Science/College of Agriculture, under the supervision of Dr. Priti Saxena, Assistant Professor-Plant Science.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
The student assistant will Coordinate with supervisor and other team members and maintain turfgrass plots and fields. Specifically, the student assistant will work in all aspects of the turfgrass program including but not limited to: research project, mowing the turfgrass plots, irrigation and fertilizer application; participate and compete in national Turfbowl competition; active participation and assistance in as Annual Advisory meeting, pumpkin festival, turf club activities, and CTILT tours and class visits are parts of the job; research projects and data collection.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Must be a CPP student and enrolled in at least 6 units in College of Agriculture, Have interest and/or experience in field work related to turfgrass management.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Must possess excellent communication, self-starter, and leadership skills and have the ability work in a team setting and to positively interact with other students, faculty and staff.
- Must be willing and able to lift weight (5-20lb) and walk for long hours.
