ANNOUNCEMENT OF POSITION VACANCY
SUMMARY: Under general supervision, the Landscaping Assistant is responsible for assisting with various landscape and farming tasks.
SOME OF THE THINGS THAT YOU WILL GET TO DO (this is just a small sampling of work variety):
- Must be able to work outdoors year-round, including in potential extreme heat and/or rain.
- Ability to work outdoors in summer & fall sun and heat.
- Ability to perform landscaping tasks such as the following: raking, weeding, sweeping, blowing, outdoor cleaning, digging holes, debris removal, and weed whacking.
- Must be willing help with fire clearance and to weed whack for extended periods of time during certain times of the year.
- Ability to perform basic farming tasks: irrigation repair, pruning, planting, harvesting, weeding, turning compost, and fire clearance.
- Must be able to lift 25lb regularly and 45lb periodically.
- Must be able to tolerate dusty environment and uneven walk ways and outdoor paths.
- Appropriate protective attire and shoe wear may be required at times.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience with minor construction work a plus but not required.
- Experience in landscaping
