ANNOUNCEMENT OF POSITION VACANCY
SUMMARY: Cal Poly Pomona Enterprises is currently searching for three (3) Student Research Assistants to work in the Chemistry & Biochemistry Department, College of Science, under the supervision of Dr. S. Chantal E. Stieber, Principal Investigator.
SOME OF THE THINGS THAT YOU WILL GET TO DO (this is just a small sampling of work variety):
The research assistant will perform scientific experiments to study carbon dioxide reduction with transition metals and electrochemistry. The research assistant will use organic and inorganic synthetic techniques to make ligands and complexes. The student will characterize ligands and complexes using techniques such as NMR spectroscopy, IR spectroscopy, electrochemistry EPR, X-ray crystallography, and UV-vis spectroscopy, for example. The student will also search the literature, write research reports, and characterize complexes. Proper laboratory safety training, documentation and presentations are also required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Cal Poly Pomona student with background in general chemistry (CHM 1210 or equivalent).
This is a 20-40 hour per week (over summer)
