ANNOUNCEMENT OF POSITION VACANCY
SUMMARY: The Computational Intelligence Lab within the Department of Computer Science at Cal Poly Pomona is excited to announce opportunities for student research assistant positions funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF). Our ongoing research investigates novel numerical methods that leverage the computing power of modern High-Performance Computing systems to quickly solve large-scale computational problems that arise in the fields of science and engineering.
SOME OF THE THINGS THAT YOU WILL GET TO DO (this is just a small sampling of work variety):
- In this position option, we are looking for highly motivated students who have a solid background in linear algebra, numerical methods, and deep learning.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Enrollment as a current undergraduate studying at Cal Poly Pomona
- Availability to dedicate 40 hours per week during summer and/or 10 hours per week during academic semesters for research.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within research team.
- Passion, self-motivation, and commitment.
- Familiarity with Krylov subspace methods and preconditioning techniques, iterative methods for computing eigenvalues and eigenvectors, and convergence analysis

ABOUT US: As the largest employer of students on the Cal Poly Pomona campus, the Foundation offers valuable work experience and hands-on training to approximately 1,500 Cal Poly Pomona students each year.
