Anticipated Hiring Salary Range: $5,540 - $5,817 per month
Full CSU Classification Salary Range: $5,540 - $7,893 per month
The CSU system provides a comprehensive benefit package that includes medical, dental and vision plans, membership in the California Public Employees Retirement System (CalPERS), sick and vacation time, and 15 paid holidays a year. Job Summary
Under the general direction of the Director of the Cross Cultural and Gender Center (CCGC), the Coordinator for African American Programs and Services (AFAM) develops, implements, and evaluates programs, initiatives, and services that enhance the success, well-being, and sense of belonging of African American students at Fresno State. The Coordinator serves as the primary advocate and liaison for the AFAM student community, working collaboratively with campus departments, student organizations, and external partners to provide educational opportunities, cultural programming, and leadership development. Through strategic engagement and mentorship, the Coordinator fosters an inclusive environment that promotes academic excellence, identity development, and social justice.

- Plan, facilitate, and lead workshops, trainings, and seminars on topics related to student success and cultural identity.
- Maintain confidentiality in compliance with FERPA, California privacy laws, and Title IX regulations.
- Collect, analyze, and apply data-driven insights to develop and improve programs.
- Serve as a liaison and advocate for students, staff, and community members, providing resources and referrals as needed.
- Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with campus departments, faculty, and external partners.

Education and Experience
- Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university in a related field, including or supplemented by upper division or graduate course work in counseling techniques, interviewing, and conflict resolution where such are job-related and three years of progressively responsible professional student services work experience.
- A master’s degree in Counseling, Clinical Psychology, Social Work, or a directly related field may be substituted for one year of experience. A doctorate degree and the appropriate internship or clinical training in counseling or guidance may be substituted for the three years of experience for positions with a major responsibility for professional career or personal counseling.
