Job Title: Director of Calallen Educational Foundation Exemption Status/Test: PART-TIME(Estemated 20 hours per week)

Primary Purpose:
The Director, under the supervision of the Superintendent, shall provide leadership for developing, planning, and coordinating all activities of the Calallen Education Foundation (CEF).
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in business or public education
Experience:
3 to 5 years’ experience in a non-for-profit organization with similar objectives
Demonstrated and measurable success in fundraising
Knowledge of the Calallen Community
Marketing and/or event planning experience preferred
Experience in project management preferred
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Fundraising
- Carryout existing grant programs, and seek opportunities to expand District efforts through industry and community partnerships by maximizing financial support from individuals, corporations, and other foundations such as, but not limited to:
- Payroll deduction plan
- Grants from various sources
- Alumni and Friends
- General and one-on-one solicitations
- Cultivate and steward donors through relationship building, recognition, and donor
- Oversee and manage databases for donors, contacts, potential donors, and donations.
- Seek and implement strategies for building the endowment by managing annual giving campaigns, estate giving, grant programs and fundraising event execution.
Program Development and Delivery
- Collaborate to ensure that activities support the educational programming goals of Calallen ISD and provide programs that the regular school budget cannot support.
- Develop the organizational culture and promote transparency throughout the organization.
- Collaborate with Board of Directors to identify, create and implement strategic plans to actualize objectives of the Calallen Education Foundation.
- Identify, recruit, train and develop a talented team of staff and volunteers who can lead critical initiatives and support strategic mission functions.
- Monitor and maintain non-profit operations, processes, and systems to ensure volunteers, employees, and business practices comply with regulatory and legal requirements.
- Regularly evaluate existing initiatives to determine continued alignment with CEF goals and strategic plan.
- Identify potential risks and opportunities within the organization and its environment.
- Continuously improve performance and manage day-to-day activities of the Foundation.
Community Relations and Marketing
- Serve as an effective spokesperson for the Calallen Education Foundation (CEF).
- Plan, develop and execute marketing and communications to include annual report, printed newsletters, e-newsletters, written correspondence, website and social media, as well as specific program advertising.
- Identify, cultivate, develop, and maintain partnerships with donors, stakeholders, industry leaders, educators, and other relevant parties.
- Communicate regularly with CISD administrators’, teachers, and students
- Oversee and update web page and maintain with regular updates, at least every 3 months; updating social media frequently and
- Establish a sound working relationship with community groups, organizations, and local print and broadcast media.
- Represent the non-profit at social and corporate events in ways that strengthen the brand and communicate the organization’s message
Financial Management and Legal Compliance
- Assure control and accounting of all funds and maintain sound financial practices, including the utilization of QuickBooks.
- Ensure that all board approved financial policies and procedures are followed.
- Work with finance committee in preparing a budget and see that the organization operates within its
- Keep the investment policy current and reviewed yearly as required.
- Maintain official records and documents in cooperation with the CEF Treasurer; ensuring compliance with federal, state and local
- Prepare invoices and follow up with collection calls until they are paid.
- Oversee the timely filing of all local, state and federal tax documents (IRS Form 990).
Administration and Board of Directors Management
- Plan regular meeting agendas in coordination with the CEF President.
- Maintain an office and develop appropriate procedures to handle day-to-day foundation processes, and business, using standard operating
- Be responsible for all correspondence, and file/record mail, phone calls and
- Maintain documents in compliance with records retention policy
- Maintain board records, minutes and financial records, including:
- Conflict of interest statements
- Board member commitment statements
- Board and committee meeting minutes, monthly and annual financial reports
- Coordinate committee activities and assist committee chairs in completing all tasks.
