What are the responsibilities and job description for the Trade Settlement Associate position at Calamos Investments?
Support trading activity through trade matching, settlement, and booking within our Portfolio Accounting System. You will interact with Traders, Trading Partners, Custodians, Fund Accountants, and internal teams to resolve trade-related issues promptly and ensure trades are matched and settled within required timeframes. The product range includes domestic and foreign, Equities, Fixed Income, Derivatives and Bank Loans.
Primary Responsibilities:- Ensure trades are confirmed and booked correctly. Trade details must align between Calamos and the broker. Trade matching will occur within DTCC’s Central Trade Manager.
- Address any discrepancies between Broker and Calamos instructions promptly with our Trading desk.
- Perform daily reconciliation to ensure all trades are booked and reported to our custodians.
- Act as an Intermediary between the Trading desk and other areas such as Custodians, Prime Brokers, Trading Partners, and internal teams to resolve trade-related issues effectively and timely.
- Communicate effectively to review, investigate and address all correspondence related to Trade Settlement.
- Maintain and support activities related to Trading and Trade Settlement. Examples include monitoring/managing custodian fail reports to prioritize and address all failing trades, performing daily EMIR reporting, maintaining the ALERT database, establishing/maintaining Calamos FX ALL accounts, establishing new broker accounts in the Trade Management system as requested, and assisting in completing Broker KYC requests.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or other Business-related disciplines.
- Two or more years of experience in Trade Settlement OR a role in financial services involving the application of analytical skills
- Knowledge of CRD and/or Knowledge of CTM/TradeSuite/ALERT is a plus
- Possession of Series 99 license or the ability to obtain the license within three months of hire is required.
- Performance-driven and proactive individuals with the ability to take on challenges set and execute agendas. They must be able to work in a fast-paced team environment and to meet deadlines.
- Strong writing, interpersonal and analytical skills, along with a strong orientation to detail are required.
- Handles related duties as assigned
For Illinois only: The expected annual base salary range for this position is $60,000 - $80,000. The selected candidate salary is based on numerous factors such as, but not limited to work experience, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, skill level, and geographic location. This is the current estimate of the base salary range intended for this role at the time of this posting. The base salary range may be modified in the future.
