Job Details
The Sr. Instructional Designer (ID) is a key role within Clients IT Learning & Development team. The Sr. Designer works collaboratively with business leaders, subject matter experts (SMEs), key stakeholders, program owners, and other learning professionals to design and develop innovative learning solutions that leverage a combination of learning modalities to maximize the learner experience, learning effectiveness, and business impact. The Sr. ID leverages instructional design techniques to author in-person, virtual, and eLearning content. This position uses their expertise to create original content. This position provides consultation on adult learning best practices and mentors junior designers in content design and development.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTION
1.Partners with Program Owners & Business Leaders to select best learning modalities and design technical and professional learning solutions that drive capability development and business outcomes
2.Develops medium to high complexity learning experiences (ex: instructor-led training sessions (ILT & VILT), eLearning, performance support, video etc.) to address required capability gaps
3. Provide consultation to learning teams on best practices for creating learning experiences and leveraging common standards & templates
REQUIRED -
Instructional Design Experience: They should have a strong background in instructional design, including creating training materials, designing curricula, and implementing learning strategies.
Authoring Tools: Proficiency in e-learning authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, or similar tools.
Content Creation: Ability to create engaging and interactive training materials, including written guides, multimedia content, and hands-on exercises.
Needs Analysis:Experience in conducting needs assessments to identify training requirements and tailor content to meet those needs.
Bachelor s Degree or a combination of education and/or progressively responsible work experience in related area may be substituted in lieu of degree on a year-for-year basis.
Advanced Proficiency with graphic design, animation and/or audio recording tools (e.g., Photoshop, Illustrator, Audacity, Audition etc.)
Instructional design including eLearning design and development, needs assessment, working with stakeholders.
Demonstrated experience using adult learning theory and methodologies to design and develop training.
Solid and rigorous project management skills including planning work, managing details, and keeping multiple tasks/projects on track.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Excellent interpersonal skills
Advanced skills in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey complex concepts and instructions.
Collaboration: Ability to work with subject matter experts (SMEs) and stakeholders to gather information and ensure the training meets business goals.
Problem-Solving:** Aptitude for troubleshooting issues related to training content and adapting materials based on feedback.
Project Management
- Organization: Skills in managing multiple projects, adhering to timelines, and handling various aspects of the instructional design process from conception to implementation.
Experience
- INFOR Knowledge: experience working specifically with INFOR systems or similar enterprise resource planning (ERP) software. Familiarity with INFOR s modules, functionalities, and user interface is a plus.
- Looking for experience with HR, Financials, or Supply Chain
- Learning Management Systems (LMS): Experience with LMS platforms, ideally those integrated with INFOR or capable of hosting INFOR training content.
