This is the first of six levels in the Health Services Series.
Incumbents assist a nurse or practitioner in patient screening and patient care. Responsibilities may include collection of patient vitals, medications administration to include injections, EKG, phlebotomy, and other delegated medical screening and care tasks.(The duties listed below are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work that may be performed. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position does not require supervisory responsibilities.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) and completion of Medical Assistant, CNA, or equivalent training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.

- Conducts vital signs, sample collection for testing, administration of medications, assisting with patient flow, and other duties as assigned.
- Prepares, files and/or retrieves a variety of records, reports, and/or related documentation including patient information from the electronic medical record. Able to document tests and treatments performed.
- Performs clerical support duties including scheduling appointments, following up on patient referrals to ensure services were rendered, updating patient charts, and performing other related duties.
- Maintains inventory, equipment, and supply levels.
- Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.
