Applicants must have a valid Louisiana Teaching Certificate which includes certification in the area of employment as specified by Bulletin 746, Revised, Louisiana Department of Education or eligibility to obtain. Must have a bachelor's degree in Spanish, Education, or related field and 36 months of experience as a Middle School Teacher, Elementary School Teacher or related occupation. Must be able to establish and maintain positive working relationships with school stakeholders, state and federal agencies and the general public.The background check will be done upon employment recommendation. Job duties include plan, prepare, and deliver lessons, instructional activities, and assessments in Spanish with native-like fluency. Daily classroom routines and procedures must be established to foster student engagement and learning. The
teacher will promote learning through questioning and discussions in the target language and facilitate individual, partner, and group work. The teacher will monitor student progress using a variety of techniques, including assessments aligned to curriculum. The teacher will communicate with students' families/caregivers throughout the school year and
provide information concerning student progress and grades in compliance withschool and district policies.
