About Us:
Our client is a fast-growing private lending firm specializing in short-term, asset-based real estate loans. They partner with real estate investors to provide flexible, fast funding for fix-and-flip, fix-to-rent, and bridge loan projects. With continued growth and expanding portfolios, they are seeking a dedicated Senior Accountant / Controller to join their core leadership team.
Role Overview:
The Senior Accountant / Controller will serve as the financial backbone of the organization, responsible for full-cycle accounting, financial reporting, compliance, and helping steer financial strategy. You’ll work closely with leadership to ensure the accuracy of financials, manage cash flow, and oversee loan servicing financial processes. This is a highly visible and hands-on role that supports both daily operations and long-term planning.
Key Responsibilities:
· Oversee daily accounting operations including AP/AR, general ledger, bank reconciliations, and month-end close
· Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
· Manage budgets, forecasts, and financial models to support business growth and capital planning
· Monitor and manage loan servicing financials: disbursements, interest tracking, payoffs, and investor returns
· Collaborate with leadership to develop pricing, profitability, and funding strategies
· Ensure compliance with lending, financial, and tax regulations (local and federal)
· Work with outside CPAs, legal advisors, and auditors for tax preparation and regulatory filings
· Implement and improve financial processes, systems, and internal controls
· Track performance of loan portfolios, analyze returns, and flag anomalies
· Support due diligence efforts for capital partners or investor reporting
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or MBA preferred)
· 5 years of accounting experience, ideally in real estate, lending, or private equity
· Proficiency in QuickBooks Online, Excel, and financial modeling tools
· Experience with loan management software or real estate finance platforms is a plus
· Detail-oriented with strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
· Comfortable in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
· Ability to work independently and drive projects forward with limited oversight
