Loan IQ - Reconciliation Analyst
Location: Open to Charlotte, Chicago, Dalla,s Minneapolis, Phoenix (Hybrid Model 3x a week)
Contract Duration: 4-6 Months with high potential for extension up to 18 months
Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Loan Reconciliation Specialist to resolve a complex, aged reconciliation issue stemming from discrepancies in Loan IQ (LIQ) dating back to January 2022. This role requires an expert in agency servicing, general ledger reconciliation, and cash matching who can meticulously untangle and remediate mismatched transactions within syndicated loan structures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Dedicated Focus on Aged Reconciliation: Work on a singular, high-priority reconciliation scenario involving a $2.4M discrepancy requiring deep analysis and remediation.
- Cash Matching & Loan IQ Expertise: Identify and correct mismatched loan payments, reconciling lender, borrower, and transaction records.
- General Ledger (GL) Analysis: Investigate transaction paths in IRIS Web, Loan IQ, and Excel, tracking down manual postings and resolving outstanding debits/credits.
- Process Improvement & Controls: Work alongside cross-functional teams to establish reconciliation best practices, ensuring sustainable resolution.
- Issue Resolution & Troubleshooting: Address cascading recon breaks caused by unmatched transactions, ensuring proper alignment of cash flows and wire transfers.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Loan IQ Experience: Deep understanding of Loan IQ Agented Deals and Cash Matching Components.
- Reconciliation & General Ledger Accounting: Strong background in GL reconciliation, cash matching, and understanding of syndicated loan servicing.
- Excel Proficiency: Expertise in pivot tables, macros, and data dumps to analyze large datasets and reconcile discrepancies.
- Problem-Solving & Investigative Mindset: Ability to trace mismatched wires, follow transaction trails, and resolve multi-layered reconciliation breaks.
- Banking & Agency Servicing Experience: Prior experience in loan administration, deal closing, transaction accounting, and reconciliation.
