Job Summary
Calculated Solutions Group is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Commercial Construction Estimator for one of the top construction companies in the southeast. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for construction projects, ensuring that all aspects of the project are considered. This role requires strong analytical skills and the ability to work collaboratively with project managers, contractors, and clients to deliver high-quality estimates that support successful project execution.
Responsibilities
- Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
- Utilize estimating software such as HeavyBid and Bluebeam to generate precise estimates.
- Collaborate with project management teams to understand project requirements and scope.
- Conduct site visits to assess construction sites and gather necessary data for accurate estimations.
- Negotiate contracts with suppliers and subcontractors to secure favorable pricing.
- Maintain a comprehensive database of costs for materials, labor, and equipment to improve future estimates.
- Review and adjust estimates based on changes in project scope or design modifications.
- Prepare detailed reports and presentations for stakeholders outlining estimated costs.
Experience
- Proven experience in commercial construction estimating is required.
- Familiarity with construction management principles and practices.
- Proficiency in using estimating software.
- Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and methodologies.
- Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders.
- Experience in commercial project management.
- Experience in healthcare construction is a plus!
