What are the responsibilities and job description for the High Pressure Boiler Operator position at Caldaia Controls, LLC?
Caldaia Controls is a service-disabled veteran owned small business and a leader in service and support of industrial boilers, water/wastewater treatment facilities and manufacturing plants. We offer over a century of combined experience between our field technicians and engineers who support more than 90 different facilities across the United States.
We are currently looking for two Boiler Plant Operators to join our skilled team.
Our immediate need is a year-long contract in South Dakota.
Position Requirements -
- Schedule: must be available for rotating shifts & overtime as needed
- Boiler license is ideal for position, or 3-5 years of related boiler operator experience
- Manufacturing experience and boiler operation experience and consistent work history preferred
- High School Diploma/GED or equivalent and 3-5 years related experience required
- Must show a commitment to an interdependent safety-first attitude
- Consistently display positive behavior that supports the organization’s goals and objectives
- Candidates must be mechanically inclined and understand mechanical principles
- This job entails bending, walking, lifting, and climbing throughout the shift; you must be able to lift 50lbs and climb ladders
- Ability to work independently and in a team empowerment culture
- Highly flexible with the ability to adjust to the demands of the job, produce high quality work, and can be depended on to complete assigned tasks
- Must be a self-starter
- Ability to communicate well with others and able to participate in team meetings
Operator Duties -
- Control boilers and other mechanical equipment to provide utilities for Hospital, Federal, and Industrial buildings
- Ensure long equipment life, operating efficiency, and equipment availability by following accepted procedures
- Use solid inspection techniques to detect and correct problems at an early stage to avoid costly problems later
- Utilize troubleshooting skills to remedy malfunctions and return equipment to full functionality in minimum time, maximizing revenue and profitability, and minimizing maintenance costs
- Work assigned rotational shifts including weekends and overtime as required, work during inclement weather
- At times work other than normal shifts, 24-hour rotational on-call status is required
- Make minor repairs and perform preventive maintenance tasks as needed
- Follow safety procedures to guard against burns, electric shock, noise, dangerous moving parts, and exposure to hazardous materials
- Interfacing with customers ensuring that needs are met, should any problems arise
