Kitchen Assistant

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our happy busy team! The ideal candidate will enjoy working in the afternoon and evening.

Responsibilities

• Help maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen by washing dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment.
• Ensure that all food handling procedures comply with health and safety regulations.
• Support the kitchen team during service by preparing ingredients and assembling dishes as needed.
• Assist in inventory management by checking stock levels and helping to receive deliveries.
• Participate in cleaning tasks at the end of shifts to ensure the kitchen is ready for the next day’s operations.
• Collaborate with team members to create a positive work environment focused on teamwork and efficiency.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a restaurant, catering, or culinary setting is preferred but not required.
• Basic knowledge of food handling practices and safety regulations is essential.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
• Willingness to learn new skills and take direction from chefs and kitchen staff.
• Ability to stand for long periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting heavy items (up to 50 pounds).
• A genuine passion for food service and helping others in a fast-paced environment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $17.50 per hour

Expected hours: 32 – 40 per week
