With our prime location, 'the House' (as we like to call it) offers eight luxury suites and Alpine club memberships, which gain access to our state of the art locker room, valet parking and concierge services, high-end spa facilities, and a plush apres-ski lounge, all at the foot of one of the best resort mountains in the world. In addition, Caldera House includes Southcable Cafe, Corsa restaurant, Casa (in the summer), and Shin Shin Sushi, and two sports shops for all visitors of the resort to enjoy.
Bartenders are responsible for positive guest interactions while serving guests in a professional, friendly, efficient manner and play an integral role in ensuring our customers have exceptional experiences. At all times, bartenders are expected to be attentive to guests’ needs, making them feel welcome, comfortable, important and relaxed. Bartenders embrace their role.
Bartenders work in close collaboration with the Lead Bartender and fellow colleagues and must adhere to established health and safety standards. Bartenders also maintain the cleanliness, presentation and ambiance of the bar which is an integral part of the guests’ experience.
Shift Needed: Friday-Sunday Lunch (Casa)
Essential Job Functions
- Greet and serve guests at the bar, take orders for food and drinks
- Make drinks using standard pours and according to the recipes
- Prepare alcohol and non-alcohol beverages for bar and dining room guests
- Keep track of tabs and handle transactions accurately
- Check IDs and ensure they are of legal drinking age
- Unpack deliveries and ensure the bar is stocked sufficiently with drinks, mixers, ice and the cash drawer for the entirety of the shift
- Handle cash and credit transactions, recognize Alpine Club members and know when to apply their bill to their account
- Comply with all food and beverage regulations
- Know when a guest is intoxicated and who to alert to confront them
- Keep an accurate log of any alcohol incidents in log book located at bar
- Create new cocktails and innovations for the bar
- Be attentive, enthusiastic, professional and knowledgeable
- Simultaneously keep the bar area tidy, assist all guests in a timely manner and maintain a positive, welcoming environment
Required Skills and Abilities
- Must be TIPS certified (Training for Intervention ProcedureS) or within 30 days of hire
- Must have at least 1 year of bartending experience
- Proficient in English
- Excellent communication & interpersonal skills
- Prior customer service experience preffered
- Ability to work quickly and with great accuracy and attention to detail
- Compute basic arithmetic
- Collaboration and dedication to team goals required
- Stand, lift heavy objects and move around behind a bar for the entirety of the shift
- Must be available to work weekends, holidays, and stay through the entirety of the Summer 2024 season
