We are seeking a Quality Inspector at our Westminster, MD site.
As a Quality Inspector, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the highest standards of quality are consistently delivered to the customer. Your primary responsibilities involve conducting thorough inspections, confirming adherence to customer requirements, and closely collaborating with the production team to meet and exceed customer requirements.
Duties/Responsibilities:
· Perform dimension and visual inspection of cut, formed, and stamped parts and welded assemblies.
· Collaborate with Operators and Management to address and rectify any deviations from customer requirements including Risk Assessment and Root Cause analysis.
· Perform routine checks using precision measuring devices on raw materials, work in progress, and finished products. Measuring devices to include calipers, angle finders, squares, radius gauges, and dry film thickness gauges.
· Responsible for logging and reporting non-conformances to contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
· Responsible for maintaining the calibration recall program for all scales, test, and inspection devices.
· Assist Production by ensuring welder qualification and continuity is maintained in accordance with customer and code requirements.
· Provide support to production with interpreting customer dimensional, tolerance, and workmanship criteria.
· Provide support during audits and 3rd party inspections.
· Assist and lead in continuous improvement efforts at the Westminster Facility.
Required Skills/Abilities:
· In-depth knowledge of metal fabrication processes, with experience working within an ISO 9001 Quality Management System.
·Proficient in the use of measuring and test equipment, including calipers, micrometers, radius gauges, angle finders, weld gauges, dry film thickness meters, and gloss meters.
· Proficient in reading customer supplied blueprints and quality documentation.
· Familiarity with welding codes, standards, and specifications.
· Consistently detail-oriented.
· Strong communication skills to effectively convey quality requirements to the production team.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
