Non-Emergency Medical Transport Driver

Position Title: Van Driver

Department: General & Administrative

Reports to (Title): Chief Executive Officer (facility)

FLSA Classification: Non-exempt

Position Summary: Performs driving duties in support of the facility and residents.

Note: All employees of Cascadia Healthcare are required to submit and be cleared to work in the facility per each state’s specific background check requirements prior to contact with patients/residents.

Qualifications

Education:

* High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Licenses/Certification:

*Valid driver’s license required.

*Current CPR certification required.

NOTE: If an employee is a CNA who drives the facility van for residents, the employee should be classified as a CNA. A driver’s record check should be performed on the van-driving CNA.

Experience:

*Six months experience in a long-term care environment preferred.

* Previous experience as a courtesy driver preferred

Essential Functions-

* Safely transports residents to doctors' appointments and organized outings.

* Reports significant changes in resident’s condition or poor tolerance for travel.

* Completes a safety checklist and takes corrective action prior to operating facility vehicles

* Assists residents to enter and exit the vehicle.

* Makes deliveries, picks up supplies and equipment and load and unloads vehicle.

* Takes vehicle for scheduled and unscheduled maintenance.

Other Functions-

* Performs other duties as assigned.

* Conducts job responsibilities in accordance with the standards set out in the Company’s Code of Business Conduct, its policies and procedures, applicable federal and state laws, and applicable professional standards.

*Skilled at operating a motor vehicle safely.

* Ability to communicate effectively with residents, family members and facility staff.

* Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

* Ability to be patient and polite.

* Knowledge of vehicle operations and maintenance procedures.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
