What are the responsibilities and job description for the Meat Cutter position at Caledonia Packing LLC?
Caledonia Packing is a USDA (“For Sale”) and Custom (“Not For Sale”) Slaughter and Processing facility for livestock. This business butchers and processes all breeds of cattle, pigs, lambs and goats. The company namely attends to the agricultural communities of Barry, Kent, Allegan, Ionia, and Ottawa counties. Caledonia Packing aims to serve the needs of meat processors, small farmers, hobby farmers and county fairs with “Custom” slaughter and processing. The company is also able to provide their customers with USDA services when they are needed.
This butcher position includes understanding the promotion of the farm to fork initiative. We are looking for experienced, knife skilled butchers who can help to breakdown whole carcass animals (beef, pigs & lambs) and de-bone. Experience in portion cutting is an added bonus. Attention to detail is a must! Must be proficient in knife skills and band saw cutting. Prefer 2 years experience.
