What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shop Hand (Local Applicants) position at CalFrac Well Services?
ROLE STATEMENT: The Shop Hand will be a member of the Maintenance Department responsible for maintaining a clean and safe working environment in the maintenance shop. The Shop Hand will report to the Maintenance Supervisor. The successful candidate will focus on the basic upkeep of the maintenance shop and assist the Parts Department and other maintenance staff.
SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday 5:00am-5:00pm
PAY: $20/hour DOE
SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Provide effective communication with management in the District regarding operations and continuous improvement initiatives
Able to participate in the development of policies and procedures to meet operational service line requirements
Work with all operations groups, i.e. Sales & Marketing, Engineering, Human Resources, etc. to ensure a trouble free operation
Manage employee and equipment assignments and schedules to meet customer requirements to achieve corporate mandate of “Service First”.
Ensure adherence to operational policies, procedures to achieve safety objectives.
Meet and inspires others to meet the Corporate Code of Business ethics
Maintain Calfrac safety standards at all times, including a clean work environment
Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with Calfrac’s procedures and regulations
Provide assistance as needed to the Maintenance Department
Provide assistance to the Shipping and receiving department
Load and unload equipment and/or product
Clean and assistance with the maintenance of company vehicles
Operate the forklift when required
KEY ATTRIBUTES AND COMPETENCIES:
Ability to work alone and willingness to work with others in a team environment, with reasonable instructions, training, and supervision.
Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed and uninvolved written or oral instructions.
Must be able to perform work in various physical positions including standing, kneeling, squatting, bending and reaching. Must be able to frequently lift up to 50 lbs.
Basic computer skills are required (Microsoft Word and Excel)
Must be a self-motivated individual with basic mechanical aptitude
Must have fluent written and verbal communication skills
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Experience working in or an understanding of oilfield services
Forklift experience preferred
Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
