Position: Buyer I
Location: Headquarters – Moon Township, PA

The Buyer I assists in the purchase of materials, parts, supplies, equipment and / or professional services following established Procurement policies and procedures to optimize price, delivery, and terms. The Buyer I will support in the development and implementation of sourcing strategies and participate in supplier negotiations. Responsibilities also include vendor management, reporting, and supplier score carding. This is a first-level professional who will be responsible for purchases of approximately $10 million per year.
Duties and Responsibilities (not limited to)
- Developing the supplier relationships necessary to bid Calgon Carbon's requirements and negotiate the best total cost of ownership
- Work with internal stakeholders and suppliers to ensure sourcing project goals and objectives are achieved
- Work with internal stakeholders and suppliers to resolve any current agreement and / or requirement issues
- Effectively coordinate and manage internal and external communications related to various existing agreements and sourcing efforts
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.), or equivalent from four-year college or university is required (Supply Chain, Logistics, Technical, or any business degree)
- 0-2 years of business experience is required
- SAP experience is preferred
