This is administrative work involving supervision, coordination and management of instructional technology designed for the support of instruction. Provide oversight to the daily actions and responsibilities of Distance Learning.
Salary: Appropriate placement on ACCS Salary Schedule C3, Grade I: $69,564 - $101,034

- Manage Distance Learning technology and initiatives.
- Serve as the primary consultant for the use of instructional technologies as it relates to teaching and learning.
- Provide vision, leadership and coordination in the effective use of instructional technologies used in distance learning, classroom instructional technologies and web-based instruction.
- Formulate policies dealing with instructional technology and distance learning.
- Manage and develop instructional design standards and policies.
- Provide information, training, and support for the design, development, and implementation of distance learning and web-based courses.
- Develop and oversee distance learning budget.
- Develop, supervise, and mentor personnel with special attention to the needs of the department to stay abreast of changing technologies and best practices.
- Promote positive and productive relationships with service areas.
- Perform all duties with professionalism.
- Perform related duties as assigned by the Vice President of Academic Affairs.
- A minimum of a Master’s degree in an academic field from an accredited institution and a minimum of three years in distance learning is required OR a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in an academic field from an accredited institution and a minimum of seven years in distance learning is required.
- College teaching experience is required.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of ADA/accessibility requirements as they relate to online instructional materials.
- Experience with learning management systems.
- Confidence in decision making and communication skills.
- Proficient computer usage.
- Experience utilizing lecture capture and video management systems.
- Experience administering LMS courses and course design.
- Experience designing/managing enterprise-wide course content standards.
- Experience enforcing adoption of course standards and policies.
- Experience collaborating with faculty for Distance Learning initiatives.
- Ability to work independently and as an effective team member.
- Ability to make decisions in accordance with institutional policy.
