Part-time Additive Manufacturing Lab Technician

Responsible for the operation of the GE/Concept Laser MLab, instructional laboratories, and 3D printing Additive Manufacturing test specimens.

Salary: Dependent upon grant guidelines.

• Responsible for the operation of the GE/Concept Laser MLab.
• Properly handle materials, machine setup and operation, build extraction, clean up, and inventory of all consumables.
• Maintain records and documentation.
• Prepare requested CAD files for printing, create build files for the MLab, and apply the specified parameters.
• Fulfill UAH graduate student work orders to build specifications.
• Document the outcome of the build upon completion including issues encountered or deviations from the work order.
• Perform other appropriate duties and responsibilities as may be assigned.

MINIMUM EDUCATION And/or EXPERIENCE

• Successfully passed the ADM 164 with a grade of “C” or higher
• Ability to properly run an MLab system without assistance.

• Skills and Knowledge of current Metal Additive manufacturing process.
• Ability to work independently and coordinate work with colleagues and peers.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

• Certifications or accomplishments in the field of laboratory medicine.
• Sensitivity and commitment to cultural diversity.
• Willingness to learn and work with other occupational areas as required.
• Ability to write job /build reports
• Ability to use safe procedure while operating Calhoun Additive Manufacturing equipment.
• Ability to maintain a clean lab.
